Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the challenge's public leader, once again led the run. With more than 193,000 participants joining the fourth edition of Dubai Run on Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday morning, Dubai has hosted the largest free fun run in the world.
The run was led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the challenge's public participant once more. Sheikh Hamdan shook hands with some of them and waved to others, much to their delight.
A sea of green made up of joggers, walkers, and runners formed as Sheikh Hamdan began the Dubai Run 2022 at 6:30am.
Men, women, and kids of all ages participated in the largest free fun race in the world while applauding, clapping, and flashing their mobile phones, capturing the essence of Dubai as an active metropolis. Families arrived in large numbers, and many were spotted pushing strollers for smaller children and carrying their young children on their shoulders.
Those that ran the 5 km route started near the Museum of the Future on Sheikh Zayed Road, went by the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Opera, and finished close to the Dubai Mall. The 10 km route took participants along Sheikh Zayed Road to the Dubai Canal, back toward the Trade Center, and finally concluding on Al Mustaqbal Street close to DIFC.
